First Coral with a background created using the dripping technique.
This work marks a profound change from previous corals, which were always executed on backgrounds "clean" of dripping or pouring gestures. In this work, I note a sudden inner chaos that I try to convey onto the canvas with a strong, decisive black, which even spills onto the edge of the canvas as if to soil it; the bright Italian red, in stark contrast to the base, creates strong chromatic tension and draws the viewer's attention, thus focusing the observer on the repetitive and consistent gesture that distinguishes all the corals and gives them their uniqueness.
