About

Gregorio Codagnone

Gregorio Codagnone was born in Florence on January 19, 1996, and lives in Florence, where he attends the Faculty of Architecture. Always passionate about art in all its forms, architecture, and the materials that make up things, he recently also started working with iron, creating original and fascinating sculptures that assemble and decompose over time: nature returning to nature.

He began painting in the summer of 2016: a spark of color that illuminated a dark period, an element that translates into a particle generating its autonomous form of expression, clearly evident from his first works, rich in vital chromatics that give energy and strength to his paintings.

For the artist, these works represent the ability to reach and integrate sensations and emotions that connect distant and fragmented inner areas, forming a thread that links them to a representation. The resulting work constitutes the source of creativity of the person who conceived it and allows the other, the observer, to project their imaginations in an infinite dialogue.

The author's multifaceted creativity is enriched by long journeys, his passions, and his knowledge of the materials gradually experimented with to bring the finished work to life. In this way, in addition to paintings and sculpture, the artist also approaches objects and design. Entirely self-taught in the use of colors, materials, and new techniques, he learns from observing his surroundings, discovering sources of life and vitality everywhere, among people and in nature, taking an interest in things and people, thus cultivating and enhancing the element, the initial particle, that gave rise to his creativity.
