Inferno di plastica

Plastic Hell

The Florentine artist Gregorio Codagnone thus denounces the environmental pollution caused by plastic. Every minute, the equivalent of one truckload of plastic ends up in the oceans, causing the death and systematic destruction of every type of living ecosystem.

“I will start a new series of paintings and sculptures to say enough to self-destruction” – this is how the artist begins – The goal is to raise awareness among every inhabitant of the world about this very important issue, widely discussed so far but little implemented in practice.

The artwork, called Plastic Inferno, is made with a rigid plastic sheet, created from the fusion of thousands of bottle caps recovered from the beaches of the Tuscan coast.

Melted by heat and molded to form this kind of "frozen" weeping in the desired position. The artist criticizes both the material itself and its processing, as they are also harmful to the environment and all its inhabitants.

Melted plastic and spray paint.
