Hidden feelings
Share
In this work, the artist explores the theme of identity and its perceptual incompleteness. The female profile, lacking eyes, becomes a place of inner projection, denying the observer direct eye contact and emphasizing absence as a vehicle of meaning. The figure is constructed through a dense and stratified pictorial matter: the face and neck are composed of a thick chromatic texture, akin to an organic blossoming, which evokes the vitality and mutability of inner movements.
The treatment of the hair, gathered in a compact volume but traversed by rhythmic and directional brushstrokes, establishes a formal counterpoint to the polychromatic fragmentation of the face. This results in a dialectic between order and dispersion, between contained form and the irrational flow of pictorial matter.
The neutral background, devoid of spatial connotations, accentuates the subject's isolation and focuses attention on the plastic and chromatic construction of the figure. Hidden feeling thus falls within a research that combines psychological introspection and material experimentation, giving the image a dimension suspended between portrait and abstraction.
